Women are not a monolith. They have a variety of identities, roles, and presentations. However; they need a place to feel supported and understood.
LIFE TRANSITIONS
One of the constants in the universe is change. Every decade presents its own shifts in identity, priority, and experiences. Career, roles, and relationships emerge and evolve over time. Thoughts about who you are and who you want to be may be explored, pursued or inhibited by life circumstances. Recognizing and adjusting to life transitions may require a supportive ear from someone who gets it.
DATING, RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGE
Life happens on its own terms. Not being where you want to be or in a situation that you desire can be stressful. Family expectations may present pressures to date, explore romantic relationships and get married. Longing for love and finding an aligned romantic partner may not be an easy path. Environment, career, finances, childhood experiences and a number of factors may present issues with finding a partner and commitment.
Mastering love requires self-acceptance and self-love. Showing up in relationships seeking a partner to make you whole or creating the perfect person often leads to dissatisfaction and disappointment. Navigating the dynamics of relationships when relationships are challenging is important. My approach is grounded in increasing awareness of what you are healing. Attachment and adaptive responses to the past may be getting in the way of having healthy and balanced relationships.
Finding the right one at the right time and settling down in marriage may be rewarding and challenging. Often times we unconsciously marry someone who mirrors the parent we have unresolved issues with. As you evolve and grow your alignment may change. Working through your thoughts and experiences by identifying your authentic truth can be helpful in making decisions about your relationships.
FERTILITY, PREGNANCY, LOSS
Women often are faced with decisions around birthing. Personal goals may not align with life circumstances. Thoughts about birthing may emerge for single and partnered individuals. Conception, pregnancy and delivery are complex processes that may have challenges along the way that can lead to stress and trauma. Working through these dynamics is important to regaining your sense of wholeness.
PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH
The mental health care of parents is critical to promoting the care of newborns and toddlers. There is a growing awareness of the importance of assessing and addressing perinatal mental health. Having supportive care and a plan improves outcomes. I have completed training in perinatal mental health psychotherapy and perinatal mood disorders. New birthing parents and their partners may experience anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, or PTSD. Persons with prenatal mental health conditions can work with me to ensure stability prior to pregnancy, during pregnancy, and postpartum.
